Merlo eWorker

Merlo’s greenest machine – the eWorker

The emission issue is getting more and more attention as part of the environmental problem and has severe consequences for both construction and agriculture. For this issue, Merlo now offers their greenest machine as an answer: the generation zero eWorker!

Merlo - Innovators by tradition. The constant search for specific innovative solutions and technologies, to meet customers' needs, has led Merlo S.p.A. to create an exclusive range of telehandlers with small dimensions and respectful of the environment because they are 100% powered by electric batteries. This range of innovative machines represents a new starting point within the Merlo Group's technological research.

Charge while you work!

The Merlo eWorker is unique because of its changeable battery. So when you have two batteries, you can continue working without stopping, as you can charge one battery while working with the other!

Generation Zero. Generation "Zero" is a highly innovative concept that aims to revolutionize the world of telehandlers. The eWorker is the first fully electric machine. It is the forerunner of a generation of products with ever greener and more powerful technology. Generation Zero stands for 0 emissions - 0 noise - 0 fuel consumption.

Sustainability above all. The new range aims to reduce environmental impact and improve driving comfort agility and performance. This is why Merlo has invested heavily in the development of this product in terms of research as well as productivity. The new machines are produced in-house thanks to the development of a production system integrated into a high-tech, digital and customized platform. With the launch of Generation Zero, Merlo is ready to write a new chapter in its long history of innovation. Merlo would like to promote a sustainable, future-oriented way of thinking and working, with respect for nature.

A compact yet powerful machine. The eWorker weighs just under 5 tons, can travel up to 25km/h and elevators a weight of up to 2,500kg. The Merlo eWorker was redesigned from the ground up. That way the machine could be constructed as efficiently as possible around the electric traction. The lead-acid battery is a very conscious choice, for the simple reason that it is thousands of euros cheaper than a lithium-ion battery. Not insignificant when you consider that the eWorker has an easily changeable battery, unique in its category! The battery pack of no less than 46kWh offers great autonomy, up to 8 hours!

A green Award Beast

The eWorker won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro Award in 2022. This recognizes "advanced design" and "ethical responsibility to individuals, society and the environment." Conceived, developed and built entirely by Merlo S.p.A., this new unit is centered around a design that focuses on people, the environment and the future of work activities. The eWorker represents the first generation of a whole series of electric machines that will enrich the company's product lines in the years to come. A generation that is already a resounding success.

Other awards for the eWorker. Introduced to the market at the end of 2021, the eWorker immediately received great appreciation from the market and from the international technical juries of the competitions in which it participated and received numerous awards and accolades in Italy and around the world, including: Samoter Innovation Award, Eima technical recommendation, Grand Prix Matériel; the Polagra and Agrotech Gold Medals, the Silver Medal at RHASS.
